I used to be the childish girl
Whose best friend was a stuffed animal
I used to be the boring girl
Who kids teased and ignored on the playground
I used to be the weird, loud girl
Who got made fun for not having the right clothes in middle school
I used to be the preppy girl
Who was so unhappy because she put others down all the time to fit in
I used to be the gay girl
Who was too terrified to come out
I used to be the depressed girl
Who wore all black and wrote poems that could break hearts
I used to be the lovesick girl
Who never stopped talking about how amazing her girlfriend was

I miss those girls
Each and every one of them
Because those girls are me
And I am those girls
The ones that got made fun
The ones that were insecure
The ones that wish their pain would go away
Because without those girls
I wouldn't be me
Whoever me is
Because now
Now I'm the girl without an identity
